About Lijiang Sanyi International Airport
Lijiang Sanyi International Airport is the main airport serving Lijiang and the surrounding areas of northwest Yunnan. Opened in 1995, it was later expanded and renamed as an international airport in 2013, and today it connects the region with major cities across China as well as a number of international and regional routes.
Located about 28 km south of Lijiang city centre, the airport sits at an elevation of roughly 2,243 metres and operates as a 4D civil airport. It has two passenger terminals: a larger Terminal 1 for domestic flights and a smaller Terminal 2 for international and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan services.
The airport is connected to central Lijiang and Lijiang Old Town by airport shuttle buses, taxis, private transfers, rental cars and road links, making it a practical gateway for visitors heading to the UNESCO-listed Old Town, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Shuhe Ancient Town.
