Lappeenranta Airport (LPP)

Lappeenranta Airport is an international airport serving Lappeenranta and the South Karelia region of Finland. Opened in 1918, it is the oldest airport in Finland that is still in operation, and its current terminal facilities were completed in 1960.

The airport is located about two to three kilometres west of the city centre, close to Highway 6 and within easy reach of Lappeenranta Central Station and the local bus and railway stations. This central location makes it a convenient entry point to the city and to the lakes, resorts, and nature destinations of Finnish Lakeland.

Passenger services are handled in a single terminal that serves both domestic and international flights, while the airport also supports general aviation throughout the year. Check-in, security screening, baggage claim, and the departure gate are all arranged in one compact terminal building, which helps keep the passenger journey simple and easy to navigate.

On-site facilities include a restaurant, a café after security, free Wi-Fi, and parking close to the terminal. The airport is connected to central Lappeenranta by bus line 4, taxi, and car, making onward travel to the city centre, Imatra, and nearby lakeside destinations straightforward.
