Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport is the main international airport serving Lanzhou and the surrounding Gansu Province. Opened in 1970, the airport has grown into a key gateway for northwestern China and an important link for travel along the Silk Road.
The airport is located northwest of central Lanzhou in the Zhongchuan area and provides connections to domestic cities as well as international and regional destinations. In March 2025, a new Terminal 3 opened and consolidated all passenger flights, while the former Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 were suspended.
Terminal 3 is designed as a main building with four piers and is connected to an integrated transport centre. Passengers can reach Lanzhou and nearby areas by intercity rail from Zhongchuan Airport East Station, airport buses, taxis, private transfers and road connections.
