About Lamidanda Airport
Lamidanda Airport is a domestic STOL airfield serving Lamidanda, Rawabesi Rural Municipality, in Khotang District of Koshi Province, Nepal. It is one of the oldest airports in the district and mainly supports flights to and from Kathmandu, although regular operations have been limited in recent years.
Located at an elevation of about 1,227 metres (4,026 feet), the airport sits roughly 25 km north of Diktel, the district headquarters. It has a single asphalt runway and a small terminal building, with basic facilities suited to short-takeoff-and-landing aircraft used in Nepal's hill regions.
The runway was blacktopped and a test flight was carried out in 2019, but scheduled services have remained uncertain. During periods of operation, the airport has connected Khotang with Kathmandu and served pilgrims and travelers heading toward Halesi and surrounding areas.
Ground access relies on local roads and walking routes through the hills. Because of its remote location, travel times to Diktel and other towns vary widely depending on road and weather conditions.
