About Labasa Airport
Labasa Airport is the main domestic airport serving Labasa and the Northern Division on Vanua Levu, Fiji's second-largest island. It is operated by Fiji Airports Limited and connects the region with domestic hubs in Nadi and Suva through Fiji Link and Northern Air services.
The airport is located in the Waiqele area, roughly 6 to 8 kilometres southwest of Labasa town centre. It has a single asphalt runway, designated 13/31, and primarily handles domestic passenger traffic in and out of Macuata Province.
A new single-storey terminal is under construction to replace the former Adi Laisa Terminal, which had served the airport since 1973. A temporary terminal has been handling passengers during the redevelopment, while runway strengthening works form part of a broader upgrade programme.
Ground transport options include taxis, private transfers, rental cars and local road links, making the airport a practical entry point for travellers continuing to Labasa, Savusavu and other parts of Vanua Levu.
