About La Palma Airport
La Palma Airport is the main airport serving the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. Opened at its current coastal site in 1970, it replaced the earlier Buenavista airfield and today functions as the principal gateway for visitors to the island.
Located about 8 km south of the island capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma, the airport connects La Palma with the other Canary Islands, mainland Spain and a number of European destinations. A modern terminal building opened in 2011 and handles all arrivals and departures through a single passenger terminal.
The airport is linked to Santa Cruz de La Palma and the nearby Los Cancajos resort area by bus line 500, taxis, private transfers and road links, with car rental also available at the terminal.
Passengers can use cafés, a restaurant, shops, a duty-free store, free Wi-Fi, a children's play area and an information desk, making it a convenient arrival point for exploring La Palma.
