About La Gomera Airport
La Gomera Airport is the main air gateway to the island of La Gomera in Spain's Canary Islands. Located on the southern coast near Playa Santiago, it connects the island with the rest of the archipelago through regular inter-island services.
The runway was completed in 1994 and the passenger terminal opened in June 1999. The two-level terminal building combines traditional Canarian architecture with modernist touches and handles domestic flights, mainly to Gran Canaria and Tenerife North.
The airport is about 34 km by road southwest of San Sebastián de la Gomera, the island capital. Buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars connect the terminal with Playa Santiago, San Sebastián and other destinations around the island.
