About Kyushu Saga International Airport
Kyushu Saga International Airport serves Saga City and the surrounding Saga Prefecture area on the island of Kyushu. The airport opened in July 1998 and adopted its current international name in 2016 as part of efforts to strengthen its role as a regional gateway.
Located south of central Saga on reclaimed land beside the Ariake Sea, the airport handles a mix of domestic and international services, including scheduled flights to Tokyo and short-haul international routes to South Korea and Taiwan. Its compact single-terminal layout keeps passenger movement simple and easy to navigate.
The airport is connected to JR Saga Station by an airport access bus that takes roughly 35 minutes, with taxis, rental cars and private transfers also available for onward travel to Saga City, Karatsu and other parts of northern Kyushu.
