About Kunming Changshui International Airport
Kunming Changshui International Airport is the main international airport serving Kunming and Yunnan Province in southwest China. Opened in June 2012, it replaced the former Kunming Wujiaba International Airport and became the region's primary air gateway.
Located approximately 25 km northeast of central Kunming, the airport connects the city with domestic destinations across China and international routes in Southeast Asia and South Asia. It serves as a major hub for China Eastern Airlines and is one of the busiest airports in western China.
The airport currently operates a single main terminal, Terminal 1, which handles both domestic and international flights, supported by a satellite concourse and two runways. A second terminal is under construction to expand capacity.
Travelers can reach the city by metro Line 6, airport shuttle buses, taxis, private transfers, rental cars and road links. With restaurants, shops, lounges and onward travel options, the airport provides a convenient gateway to Kunming, Dianchi Lake, the Stone Forest and the wider Yunnan region.
