Kos International Airport "Ippokratis" opened in 1964 and has grown into the island's main air gateway, connecting Kos with Athens, Thessaloniki and seasonal destinations across Europe. It is located near Antimacheia, about 25 km west of Kos Town, and is operated by Fraport Greece under a long-term concession.
The airport underwent a major redevelopment completed in 2021, which delivered a new terminal of more than 23,000 square metres, a modern baggage handling system, 28 check-in counters and nine security lanes. The single integrated terminal handles domestic, Schengen and international traffic in one building.
