About Korla Licheng Airport
Korla Licheng Airport is a 4D civil-military airport serving Korla and the wider Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in southern Xinjiang. It acts as a regional gateway and secondary aviation hub for Xinjiang, connecting the area with cities across China.
The airport lies about 17 km from central Korla. A military airfield was first built at the site in 1967, civil operations began in 1971, and the current airport opened in 2007. The newer Terminal 2 opened in 2017, and the airport was renamed Korla Licheng Airport in 2021.
Passengers can reach central Korla by airport shuttle bus, taxi or private transfer. Terminal 2 provides check-in, security, shopping, dining and lounge areas, while Terminal 1 handles domestic arrivals and baggage claim, making the airport a practical gateway for travel across southern Xinjiang.
