About Kelani-Peliyagoda Seaplane Base
Kelani-Peliyagoda Seaplane Base is an open water aerodrome on the Kelani River in the Peliyagoda area of Colombo, Western Province, Sri Lanka. Also known as the Kelani River-Peliyagoda Waterdrome or Sri Lankan Waterdrome, it serves domestic seaplane flights and is one of the closest air access points to the centre of Colombo.
The base is primarily used for scheduled and charter seaplane services linking the capital with tourist destinations around the island, including coastal, hill country and cultural locations. Special seaplane flights have operated from the waterdrome in the past, including services during major sporting events.
