About Trincomalee Harbor Waterdrome
Trincomalee Harbor Waterdrome is a seaplane base serving Trincomalee and Sri Lanka's Eastern Province. Located on Trincomalee Harbour, it provides domestic seaplane connections that link the east coast with Colombo and other water-based destinations around the island.
The waterdrome sits approximately 2 km from central Trincomalee. It primarily supports scheduled seaplane services operated by domestic carriers, giving travelers a direct alternative to longer road journeys between the capital region and the east coast.
As a water-based facility, it has no conventional runways or large terminal buildings. Passengers board and disembark seaplanes at a harbour landing area, with check-in and baggage handling managed by the seaplane operator.
The base is well placed for onward travel to Trincomalee's city centre, nearby beaches and resort areas such as Nilaveli and Uppuveli, making it a convenient entry point for visitors heading to the east coast.
Terminal Overview
Terminals
