About Kasos Island Public Airport
Kasos Island Public Airport is the only airport serving Kasos, a small island in the southern Dodecanese. It has operated as the island's air gateway since 1983 and handles domestic flights connecting Kasos with other Greek destinations. In 2021 it was renamed Municipal Airport of the Heroic Island of Kasos – Markos Malliarakis.
The airport has a single small passenger terminal and a short asphalt runway, reflecting its role as a compact island airport. It lies about 1 km west of Fry, the island's main port and capital, along the coastal road toward Agios Konstantinos.
Because there is no regular public bus service to the airport, travellers reach Fry and nearby villages by taxi, private transfer or rental car. Light travellers can also walk the short distance into Fry.
Despite its limited facilities, the airport is a convenient entry point for visitors heading to Kasos's traditional villages, beaches and coastal areas, with onward road travel covering most of the island in a short time.
