Kashgar Laining International Airport is the main international airport serving Kashgar, a historic Silk Road city in the western part of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Opened in 1953, the airport has grown into an important regional gateway for southern Xinjiang and cross-border routes to neighbouring Central and South Asian cities.
Located about 8 km from central Kashgar, the airport operates domestic and international services through two passenger terminals. Terminal 1, opened in 2009, handles both domestic and international flights, while Terminal 2, opened in 2022, is used for domestic operations.
The airport is connected to the city by airport shuttle buses, public buses, taxis, private transfers and road links, making it relatively easy to continue to Kashgar city centre and nearby destinations.
