Jacarepaguá – Roberto Marinho Airport is a general aviation airport serving Rio de Janeiro, located in the Barra da Tijuca district on Avenida Ayrton Senna. Opened on January 19, 1971, it has grown into one of Brazil's busiest general aviation airports and a key base for air taxi, executive, offshore and helicopter operations.
The airport operates a single compact passenger terminal and a 900-metre runway, surrounded by hangars and FBO facilities. It mainly supports non-scheduled flights, aviation schools and offshore platform connections, while also handling a small number of regional scheduled services.
Situated about 30 km west of downtown Rio de Janeiro, the airport is well connected by road and is close to the neighbourhoods of Barra da Tijuca, Jacarepaguá and Recreio.
