About Itapetinga Airport
Itapetinga Airport is a small public aerodrome serving the city of Itapetinga in south-central Bahia. It provides general aviation and regional air access for a municipality located in the interior of the state, roughly 4 km from the city centre.
The airport has a single paved runway designated 11/29, approximately 1,060 metres long, along with a compact passenger terminal and aircraft parking apron. Operations are conducted under visual flight rules during daylight hours, and no scheduled commercial airlines currently serve the airport, so most traffic consists of private, charter and occasional regional flights.
The airport is reached by road from central Itapetinga, mainly via Avenida Isaí Dutra Amorim, which keeps transfers to hotels, business locations and local destinations short and straightforward. Nearby urban centres such as Vitória da Conquista can also be reached by continuing along the regional road network.
Recent state investment has recovered the runway, taxiway and aircraft parking apron, with further work planned for night lighting and terminal renovation. These improvements support the airport's role as a practical regional access point in southern Bahia.
