About Inongo Airport
Inongo Airport is a small domestic airfield serving Inongo, a city on the eastern shore of Lake Mai-Ndombe in Mai-Ndombe Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The airport provides an important air link for a region where road and river travel can be slow and difficult.
Located only a few kilometres from the centre of Inongo, the airport has a single unpaved runway and one compact passenger terminal. In 2021, construction began on a new terminal building that includes a boarding room, an arrivals area, security and control facilities, a VIP lounge, a bar and a restaurant.
The airfield sits about 2–3 km from the city centre, so the short journey into Inongo is normally made by taxi, private transfer or local transport. Road access is straightforward for such a short distance.
