Pweto Airport is a small regional airport serving Pweto, a town in the Haut-Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The town lies at the northern end of Lake Mweru, close to the border with Zambia.
The current airport sits about 7 kilometres north of Pweto and was constructed between 2012 and 2013, replacing an earlier dirt runway west of town. It features a single asphalt runway, 01/19, measuring approximately 2,000 metres.
Built by Australian mining company Mawson West to support a planned copper operation at Kapulo, the airport primarily facilitates regional and charter flights in this remote part of southeastern DRC.
Access to Pweto centre is by road, and travellers generally arrange local taxis, motorbike taxis, or private transfers for the short journey into town. The airport functions as a modest gateway for the lake area and surrounding region.
