About Ibiza Airport
Ibiza Airport is the main international airport serving Ibiza and the nearby island of Formentera. It handles a mix of year-round domestic flights and seasonal international connections, making it a key arrival point for visitors travelling to the Balearic Islands. The airport opened to international traffic in 1966 and has since grown into one of the busiest gateways in the region.
Located about 7 km southwest of Ibiza Town in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, the airport operates a single passenger terminal. The building separates check-in and arrivals on the ground floor from departures and security on the upper level, with areas for both Schengen and non-Schengen passengers.
The airport is connected to Ibiza Town, San Antonio and other parts of the island by regular bus services, taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars. The main road access runs via the PM-801 and E20 routes, keeping the city centre within a short drive under normal traffic conditions.
