About Hotan Airport
Hotan Airport, also known as Hetian Kungang Airport, serves Hotan and the wider Hotan Prefecture in the southern part of Xinjiang. The airport opened in 1956 and has been expanded several times; its current passenger terminal began operating in 2016, and the airport was formally renamed in 2023.
Located about 9 km northeast of central Hotan, the airport is a civil-military dual-use facility with a single passenger terminal and two runways. It became the first airport in Xinjiang to operate dual runways in 2024 and mainly handles domestic flights connecting Hotan with Urumqi and other Chinese cities, as well as regional destinations within Xinjiang.
The airport is reached by taxi, an airport shuttle bus to Hotan Railway Station and city hotels, and city bus routes, making onward travel to central Hotan and nearby towns straightforward. A parking area and lounges support passenger convenience.
