About Hat Yai International Airport
Hat Yai International Airport is the main international airport serving Hat Yai and Songkhla Province in southern Thailand. Opened in 1972 and managed by Airports of Thailand, it functions as the region's key aviation gateway to the five southernmost provinces of Songkhla, Satun, Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani.
Located about 9 km from central Hat Yai in Khlong Hoi Khong District, the airport connects the city to domestic destinations such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, as well as international routes mainly to Malaysia and Singapore. Its two connected terminal buildings handle both domestic and international passenger traffic.
The airport is well positioned for onward travel, with taxis, shared minivans, airport shuttles, car rental and private transfer options available to Hat Yai city centre, Songkhla Old Town and Pak Bara Pier, the main departure point for ferries to Koh Lipe.
