About Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport
Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport is the main international airport serving Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, and one of the key gateways to East China. Opened on 28 December 2000, it became the city's primary civil airport and has developed into an important hub for domestic and international travel in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Located in Xiaoshan District, about 27 km southeast of central Hangzhou, the airport connects the city with destinations across China and abroad. Passenger operations are currently concentrated in Terminal 3 and the newer Terminal 4, which opened in September 2022 and now handles international and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan flights alongside selected domestic carriers.
Ground transport is well integrated: Metro Line 1, Line 7 and the faster Line 19 link the airport with central Hangzhou, Hangzhou East Railway Station and the West Lake area, while taxis, buses, private transfers and car rental are also available. This makes it relatively easy to continue to hotels, business districts and tourist attractions around West Lake.
The airport combines practical check-in, security and arrivals services with passenger amenities such as lounges, dining, shopping and free Wi-Fi. It serves as a convenient starting point not only for Hangzhou but also for onward journeys to nearby cities such as Shanghai and Suzhou.
