About Hami Yizhou Airport
Hami Yizhou Airport is the main airport serving Hami and the eastern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Originally built in 1934 and long used as a military airfield, the airport was expanded and returned to mixed civil-military service in 2008, then officially renamed Hami Yizhou Airport in 2022.
The airport lies about 12 km west of central Hami, near the G312 highway in Yizhou District. It operates a single-storey passenger terminal with domestic flight services and is used by several Chinese airlines on routes connecting Hami with cities across Xinjiang and other parts of China.
Travelers can reach the city by taxi in about 20 minutes, by airport bus, or by private car along the G312 road, which links the airport with Hami's urban districts and onward destinations in the region.
