About Halli Airport
Halli Airport is a military and general aviation airfield serving Jämsä and the Central Finland region. It opened in 1940 and has been part of Finavia's airport network since the 1950s.
Located in the Kuorevesi district about 23 km west of Jämsä town centre, the airport primarily serves the Finnish Defence Forces and is also used by Patria, the Finnish Aviation Academy, Patria Pilot Training and a local aviation club. Scheduled passenger traffic ended in the 1990s, and the airport now focuses on military and general aviation operations.
The airfield has an asphalt runway of 2,601 metres and restricted access controlled at the main gate. Travelers and authorized visitors typically reach the airport by car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer, with road connections to Jämsä, Tampere and Jyväskylä.
Passenger facilities are limited, but the Hallinportti Aviation Museum near the airport documents the area's aviation heritage. With its long defence and industrial role, Halli Airport remains an important aviation site in Central Finland.
