About Haixi Delingha Airport
Haixi Delingha Airport is a regional domestic airport serving Delingha, the capital of the Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province. Opened in 2014, it is one of the smaller civil airports in the prefecture and mainly handles domestic flights connecting the area with cities in Qinghai and beyond.
The airport has a single one-storey passenger terminal of about 4,400 square metres with a small number of check-in counters and self-service kiosks, two boarding gates and two security channels. Its 3,000-metre runway can accommodate high-plateau-capable aircraft such as the Airbus A319, Boeing 737-700 and ARJ21.
Located roughly 28 km from central Delingha, the airport is connected to the city by a free shuttle bus and road access. The journey between the airport and the city centre normally takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic and weather.
As a high-plateau airport at around 2,862 metres above sea level, it provides an important air link for travellers and businesses in the Qaidam Basin region, with facilities including a VIP lounge, shops and basic passenger services.
