Porto Velho International Airport serves the city of Porto Velho, the state capital of Rondônia, and is the main air gateway to Brazil's western Amazon. Opened in 1969 and operated by Infraero from 1979, the airport gained international status in 2002 and has been part of the VINCI Airports network since February 2022 under a 30-year concession.
The airport is located about 7 km north of central Porto Velho and has a single passenger terminal plus a 2,400-metre runway. Recent modernisation work has extended the terminal, upgraded the runway and added new air conditioning, lifts, escalators and accessibility systems.
Porto Velho Airport connects Rondônia with major Brazilian cities through regular domestic services and is equipped for international operations. It plays a key role in serving business, government and leisure travel across the state.
