About Gaoua Airport
Gaoua Airport (XGA) is a small public airfield serving Gaoua, the capital of Poni Province in Burkina Faso's Sud-Ouest region. It provides an air link to this part of south-western Burkina Faso, mainly for domestic and regional VFR flights.
Located about 7 km north of Gaoua, the airport has a single runway and a small terminal used for check-in, security, arrivals and basic passenger services. It is used mainly by light aircraft and small scheduled or charter operations.
The airport is connected to Gaoua by road, with taxis and private transfers offering onward travel to the town centre and surrounding villages. Gaoua is known as a centre of Lobi culture, and the airport can be a practical gateway for travellers visiting the region.
Facilities are limited compared with larger airports, so passengers are encouraged to confirm flight details and transport arrangements in advance. As a national aerodrome, it plays a modest but useful role in regional connectivity.
