About Arly Airport

Arly Airport is a small public-use airfield near Arly and Arli National Park in the Tapoa Province of eastern Burkina Faso. It mainly supports access to the W-Arly-Pendjari transboundary conservation area, serving safari operators, researchers and conservation teams rather than scheduled commercial airlines.

The airfield has a single unpaved runway and no formal passenger terminal building. Because it is remote and lightly used, flight operations are usually organized in advance through charter or safari operators, and visitors are met directly on the airstrip.

The airport is roughly 95 km by road from Diapaga, the capital of Tapoa Province, with onward travel generally by four-wheel-drive vehicle. There is no regular public transport at the airfield, so transfers to lodges, camps and nearby towns should be arranged before arrival.

Travelers should plan to be self-sufficient, as the site has no permanent shops, restaurants or other passenger facilities. Despite its basic infrastructure, the airport remains a practical entry point for reaching Arli National Park and the wider protected landscape of the region.
