About Fuyun Koktokay Airport
Fuyun Koktokay Airport is a regional airport serving Fuyun County and the Koktokay area in Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang. The present airport opened on 1 August 2015, when a China Southern Airlines flight from Urumqi became its first scheduled service, replacing an older airfield that dated back to 1965.
The airport lies about 28 km from the centre of Fuyun County and around 80 km from the Koktokay Scenic Area. Its single terminal and 2,600-metre runway handle domestic regional flights, connecting the area with Urumqi and other cities in Xinjiang such as Karamay and Korla.
Ground access is provided by a shuttle bus between the airport and Fuyun Travel Hotel, as well as taxis to Fuyun Coach Station, from which onward services continue to Keketuohai National Park.
As a small regional gateway, the airport supports tourism, business and local travel in northern Xinjiang while keeping onward journeys to Fuyun and Koktokay relatively straightforward.
