The airport has a single compact terminal and a roughly 1,025-metre asphalt runway. A renovated terminal building was inaugurated in 2024, replacing older facilities that had suffered cyclone damage. Located about 3 km from the Farafangana town centre, the airport is reached by road. The town sits on the RN12 route, linking it with Manakara to the north and Vangaindrano to the south, which makes the airport a useful entry point for the surrounding region.
