Eqalugaarsuit Heliport (QFG)

Eqalugaarsuit Heliport is the helicopter stop serving the small settlement of Eqalugaarsuit in the Kujalleq municipality of southern Greenland. It is classified as a public helistop rather than a full airport, reflecting its role as a simple landing point for scheduled helicopter flights.

Located within the settlement itself, the heliport sits roughly 12 km southeast of Qaqortoq, the main town in the area. Because Eqalugaarsuit has no road link to Qaqortoq, helicopter services form the primary scheduled connection for residents and visitors traveling along this part of the coast.

Air Greenland serves the heliport under a government contract, operating helicopter flights that link Eqalugaarsuit with Qaqortoq and other nearby communities. The landing area is a small gravel surface with no passenger terminal, so arrivals and departures are handled directly at the helipad.

For travelers, the heliport is simple and compact: passengers walk between the village and the landing area, and onward movement depends on helicopter, boat, or local arrangements. Qaqortoq provides the nearest fuller range of services and onward connections in the region.
