About El Hierro Airport
El Hierro Airport is the only airport on the island of El Hierro, the westernmost and smallest of the main Canary Islands. Located about 9 km northeast of the capital, Valverde, it serves as the island’s main air link and was inaugurated on 12 December 1972.
The airport handles domestic inter-island flights operated by Binter Canarias and Canaryfly, connecting El Hierro with Gran Canaria and Tenerife North. Its single passenger terminal keeps arrivals and departures simple, and the airport is classified for domestic passenger and cargo traffic.
