About Dubai International Airport
Dubai International Airport is the primary international airport serving Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates. Opened in 1960, it has grown into one of the world's busiest airports for international passenger traffic and is the main hub for Emirates and flydubai.
The airport is located in Al Garhoud, roughly 5 km east of central Dubai and about 15 km from Downtown Dubai. It operates three passenger terminals: Terminal 1 with Concourse D for many international airlines, Terminal 2 for flydubai, regional and charter services, and Terminal 3 with Concourses A, B and C for Emirates, selected flydubai flights and Qantas.
Dubai Metro's Red Line links Terminals 1 and 3 with the city, while taxis, buses, private transfers and road connections provide further onward travel options to hotels, business districts and attractions.
With extensive duty-free shopping, dining, lounges and passenger facilities, the airport acts as a major global gateway for travellers arriving in Dubai and the region.
