Dembidollo Airport (DEM)

Dembidollo Airport is a small regional airport serving Dembidollo town and the surrounding agricultural highlands of western Oromia Region. It provides a domestic air link between this remote coffee-growing area and the capital, Addis Ababa, supporting the movement of people and goods across western Ethiopia.

Located about 5 km from Dembidollo town, the airport sits at an elevation of around 1,585 m above sea level. Its single compact terminal handles arrivals and departures in one building, and Ethiopian Airlines has operated scheduled flights on the Addis Ababa route, including thrice-weekly services resumed in 2024.

The airport's infrastructure was improved with the completion of a new asphalt and concrete runway in 2018, allowing modern turboprop aircraft such as the Bombardier Q400 to operate more reliably. Ground transport into town is typically provided by local bajajs and taxis, with the short journey taking roughly 10 to 15 minutes.

Passenger facilities remain basic, with a waiting area, a small kiosk, an ATM and limited parking. Travelers should plan ahead for cash, food and onward arrangements, as the terminal experience is focused on straightforward domestic air travel rather than extensive retail or lounge services.
