About Dazu Air Base
Dazu Air Base (IATA: DZU, ICAO: ZUDZ) is a military airfield in Dazu District, Chongqing Municipality, in southwestern China. It lies southeast of Dazu's urban area and has historically supported air force operations in the region.
The airfield was first developed in the early 1940s and was later upgraded in the 1960s for military use. Between 1988 and 1990 it also handled limited civilian flights to Chengdu, but scheduled public passenger services are not currently available.
The site is about 82 km from central Chongqing and is connected to Dazu town and the wider municipality by road. Travelers heading to the area typically continue by taxi, private transfer or rental car, while scheduled commercial flights are served by Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
Because Dazu Air Base remains an active military facility, access is restricted and public passenger amenities are not provided. Visitors traveling to the Dazu Rock Carvings and nearby destinations should plan road transfers from Dazu town or Chongqing.
