A major modernization program was completed with the opening of a new passenger terminal in December 2025. The terminal covers approximately 32,000 square meters and is arranged across several levels, with modern check-in areas, security screening, and separate Schengen and non-Schengen passenger flows.
The airport is located about 7 kilometers east of central Craiova. Travelers can reach the city by public bus routes, taxis, private transfers, and rental cars, with road access along Calea București.
The terminal includes cafés, a food court, shops, a duty-free area, tourist information, parking, and facilities for passengers with reduced mobility, making it a practical gateway for visitors to the region.
