About Chongqing Xiannüshan Airport
Chongqing Xiannüshan Airport serves Wulong District and the surrounding mountain and karst areas of Chongqing Municipality. Opened on 18 December 2020, it was built as a 4C-level domestic tourism airport and is one of the few civil airports in China located within a national AAAAA-level scenic area, inside the Fairy Mountain National Forest Park area.
Located about 45 km from Wulong District's urban centre at an elevation of around 1,745 metres, the airport primarily serves travellers visiting the Wulong Karst UNESCO World Heritage landscape, including the Three Natural Bridges, Furong Cave and Fairy Mountain. A single 6,000-square-metre terminal and a 2,800-metre runway support domestic services to cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Guiyang, Xi'an and Chongqing.
Road access connects the airport with Wulong town, the Fairy Mountain tourist resort and nearby scenic areas, with shuttle buses, taxis, ride-hailing and car rental available at the terminal. The airport gives visitors a much shorter route into Wulong than travelling overland from central Chongqing.
For travellers heading to the Wulong Karst attractions, the airport offers a compact and convenient arrival point with basic passenger facilities, onward transport and direct access to the region's main tourism destinations.
