About Chifeng Yulong Airport
Chifeng Yulong Airport is the main airport serving Chifeng, a city in southeastern Inner Mongolia, and the surrounding region. Opened in March 2008 as a replacement for the older Chifeng Xijiao Airport, it functions as a key domestic gateway for eastern Inner Mongolia.
The airport's current passenger terminal, Terminal 2, opened in August 2022 with a floor area of about 31,500 square metres and nine boarding bridges. It handles domestic flights to major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hohhot, while the original Terminal 1 has been taken out of service.
Located about 15 km southwest of central Chifeng, the airport is reached by airport shuttle bus, city bus line 33, taxis, and private transfers. The shuttle bus links the terminal with Chifeng Railway Station and several central hotels.
With modern check-in, security, and baggage facilities plus dining and shopping options, the airport provides a practical arrival point for travellers visiting Chifeng and the eastern Inner Mongolia region.
