Located about 7 km from the city centre, the airport has a single asphalt runway and a recently upgraded passenger terminal. For many years it has handled mainly general aviation, air taxi and cargo operations, while recent investments in the runway, terminal and visual navigation aids have prepared it for regular commercial flights.
