About Brussels Airport
Brussels Airport is Belgium's main international airport, located in Zaventem and serving Brussels and the wider region. It has operated as a civil airport since 1958 and has grown into the country's primary gateway for European and intercontinental travel.
The airport's passenger facilities are organised around a single terminal building with two piers. Pier A handles Schengen flights, while Pier B and the smaller T area are used for non-Schengen and long-haul services.
Situated approximately 12 km northeast of central Brussels, the airport has its own railway station directly beneath the terminal, with frequent direct trains to Brussels North, Central and Midi stations. Buses, taxis, private transfers and car rental are also available.
With shops, restaurants, lounges and onward transport options, the airport serves as a practical starting point for visiting Brussels, Flanders and other Belgian cities such as Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges and Leuven.
