About Bhadrapur Airport
Bhadrapur Airport is the main domestic airport serving Bhadrapur and the wider Jhapa district in eastern Nepal. It connects the region with regular scheduled flights to Kathmandu and functions as a gateway for travellers heading to Ilam, the eastern border area and the Kanchenjunga trekking region.
The airport has operated since November 1963, when it was established as an airfield, and its single asphalt runway is about 1,500 metres long. Commercial airlines operate from one small terminal, handling domestic arrivals and departures.
Located roughly 3–4 km northwest of central Bhadrapur, the airport is reached by road using taxis, e-rickshaws, private transfers or rental cars. The short journey makes it convenient for onward travel to nearby towns such as Birtamod and Damak.
