About Bern Airport
Bern Airport (IATA: BRN), also known as Bern-Belp Airport, is a compact regional airport serving Bern, the capital of Switzerland, and the wider Canton of Bern. Opened in 1929, it operates from the municipality of Belp, just south of the city.
Located about 10 km from central Bern, the airport mainly handles seasonal holiday flights to Mediterranean destinations alongside business and general aviation. It has a single passenger terminal with separate Schengen and non-Schengen areas, allowing passengers to move through check-in and security quickly.
The airport is connected to Bern by public transport: BERNMOBIL bus line 160 links the terminal with Belp and Rubigen S-Bahn stations every 15 minutes, and the journey from Bern main station takes around 35 minutes. Taxis, private transfers and car rental are also available, with road access via the A6 motorway.
With its compact size, short walking distances and essential passenger facilities, Bern Airport serves as a convenient gateway for travellers visiting Bern and the Bernese Oberland.
