Belo sur Tsiribihina Airport (BMD)

Belo sur Tsiribihina Airport (IATA: BMD, ICAO: FMML) is a small aerodrome serving Belo sur Tsiribihina in the Menabe region of western Madagascar. Located about 0.2 km from the town centre, the airport sits at an elevation of 47 metres and operates under the supervision of Aéro Sud Ouest.

Unlike larger hubs, the aerodrome has no regular scheduled flights. Private charter companies mainly serve the destination for tourism, with fewer than 10 flights per year and the ATR 42 as the reference aircraft type. It is open daily from 6am to 6pm, and the single asphalt runway measures approximately 850 metres by 20 metres.

Infrastructure is basic rather than terminal-based. There is no passenger or cargo security screening, air traffic control, refuelling or ground handling service, although airport staff can provide basic weather, traffic and obstacle information by VHF radio when needed. A windsock and aircraft parking space are available.

The aerodrome functions as a small gateway for the Tsiribihina River area and the wider Menabe region. Passengers typically arrange hotel pickups or private transfers in advance, with onward road and 4WD connections available toward Morondava and other western Madagascar destinations.
