Barra Airport is the airport serving the municipality of Barra in western Bahia, close to the São Francisco River. Located about 3 km from the town centre, it provides a small public aerodrome for general aviation and occasional charter activity in the Middle São Francisco region.
The airport has a single asphalt runway aligned 06/24 and around 1,300 m long, with an elevation of about 410 m. It is administered by the Government of the State of Bahia. In the 1980s the airport was served by Nordeste Linhas Aéreas, and it currently has no regular scheduled passenger services.
Road access connects the airport to central Barra, where onward travel is typically made by taxi, private transfer or rental car. The surrounding area is served by regional roads rather than a large public transport network.
While terminal facilities are limited, the airport remains a practical access point for general aviation travellers visiting Barra and the surrounding São Francisco Valley area.
