Barkol Dahe Airport is the main airport serving Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County in Hami City, in the eastern part of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It opened for commercial operations in July 2025 and operates as a domestic regional airport, connecting Barkol with cities such as Chengdu and Chongqing.
The airport is located about 19 km from the Barkol county seat, in Dahe Township, and is described as the second high-altitude airport in Xinjiang, with a runway elevation of around 1,700 metres. Its facilities include a single 3,000-metre runway and a roughly 4,000-square-metre passenger terminal.
With an annual design capacity of about 300,000 passengers, the airport supports regional development, tourism and local industries in Barkol and the wider Hami area. It currently offers a small number of domestic routes, with further connections planned.
Passengers can reach Barkol town and other destinations in the Hami region by taxi or private transfer, and road links connect the airport to surrounding areas. Its compact single-terminal layout is designed for straightforward check-in, security, boarding and arrivals.
