About Bandundu Airport
Bandundu Airport is a small regional airport serving Bandundu, the capital of Kwilu Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is located close to the city centre and primarily supports domestic air connections for the city and the surrounding province.
The airport has a compact terminal building and an asphalt runway. In recent years, rehabilitation work has focused on improving the runway and basic operating conditions to support regional flights and provincial travel.
Bandundu Airport lies approximately 2 km from central Bandundu, making onward travel by taxi, private transfer or pre-arranged vehicle relatively short. Public transport is limited, so arranging ground transportation in advance is practical for most visitors.
As a regional gateway, the airport offers basic passenger services rather than large international amenities. It provides a convenient entry point for visitors, officials and residents travelling to Bandundu and the wider Kwilu Province.
