Bajhang Airport is a small domestic airport serving Bajhang district in the Sudurpaschim Province of far-western Nepal. It was originally opened in October 1976 to connect the remote district with the rest of the country.
The airport is located about 2 km south of Chainpur, the district headquarters. After road access to Chainpur improved, scheduled flights were suspended for a period; the airport has since returned to service and now operates as a domestic air link with scheduled flights from Dhangadhi.
The airport has a single asphalt runway measuring about 630 m and one small passenger terminal. It supports access to a mountainous district where road travel can be slow and difficult, making the short air connection an important option for local travel.
Onward travel from the airport is mostly by road, with local vehicles and arranged transfers connecting to Chainpur and other parts of the district. Passenger facilities are limited, so travellers should plan essential needs before arrival.
