Antoine-Simon International Airport is a compact international gateway serving Les Cayes and Haiti's Sud department. Located on the Tiburon Peninsula, it provides domestic connections to Port-au-Prince and other parts of the country and has recently been upgraded to receive international flights. The airport opened in the mid-20th century and has since been expanded and modernized. Its single passenger terminal was renovated with repositioned check-in counters, an upgraded security checkpoint, dedicated immigration and customs areas, an international departure lounge, and a VIP lounge.
