About Andavadoaka Airport
Andavadoaka Airport is a small domestic airfield serving the coastal village of Andavadoaka in the Atsimo-Andrefana region of southwestern Madagascar. It carries the IATA code DVD and provides an important air link to this remote part of the country's southwest coast.
The airport is located close to the village and about 45 km south of Morombe, with Toliara further to the south. It is used mainly for domestic flights and has historically provided connections to Antananarivo, giving travelers access to the reefs and marine areas around Andavadoaka.
The airfield has a single unpaved runway and a compact passenger handling area rather than a large terminal complex. Because facilities and scheduled services are limited, visitors usually arrange onward road transport in advance.
Road access from the airport to the village and nearby lodges is short, while journeys to Morombe and Toliara require longer drives on local roads. Private transfers and 4x4 vehicles are the most practical options in this remote area.
